Woohoo! Two great days on the road! Wednesday to between Banff and Calgary, stopping at a casino for the night. Linda came out ahead from our Nakoda casino visit, me not so much!
Yesterday, to Edmonton. We had a wonderful visit and lunch with Shannon and Dana at their glorious acreage. Kip, their new pup, was hilarious running and taking a dip in their pond. It was another memory day. Tonight, niece Liv is going to feed us and we are sooooo looking forward to seeing her, been too long. Tomorrow, we get to spend time with the Jackson 5!! Life is great!
Alberta has already started their fire season. We saw one by the highway near Banff, with many firefighters scrambling and we heard today about an evacuation near Dayton Valley. Sure hope this is NOT an indication of what the summer will bring here and at home.

A fire already?! Oh goodness. Have a great time in Edmonton and share my love with J5! Continued safe travels.
ReplyDeleteWow, you made it through the Rockies in no time. Not sure how you intend to tackle Saskatchewan but we really enjoyed the Grasslands drive through at Val Marie. There are also safe backroads where the relics of old homesteads create some outstanding photography opportunities. No casino's though!
ReplyDeleteWow a beauty of a start to your adventure! My adventure to Ireland was spectacular….no I did not kiss the Blarney stone at Blarney Castle…I decided I was ok with the gift of gab that i already have! Stay safe and away from all wildfires!🍀💚🤗
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you are now but you might consider a visit to the Birds of Prey Nature Center in Coledale. It's in southern Alberta. A rehab facility for injured birds where you can get up close and personal. A great experience, especially for raptors.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your trip. We are stuck in Port Alberni. Hope we can out one day. Lol. Kind of scary for a few days but the logging roads are open
