The Centre of the Universe!

YES! We have landed, 4500 kilometres later, at the Doe Lake Rizzort. All in all, a good trip, some rough roads, some fierce winds, but totally worth it to see our Ontario family! Son Chris brought us dinner our first night here and yesterday gave us a tour of the bunkies he’s made on his and Kiyo’s property, so interesting to discover your child has talents you didn’t know about and he loves his excavator!! Granddaughter Heather and her partner, Jon, and Chris were here for dinner on Thursday evening and we’ll see them again on Sunday, along with Elliott and his partner, Leticia. And June arrives on Monday! The residents in this campground are very welcoming! And the sites are treed and spacious (lovely to watch the leaves unfurling out the windows). The gently rolling hills around us are white with trilliums.

Almost in Ontario!

WOW!! A whirlwind of visiting since I last wrote. It never fails to amaze me how easy it can be to reconnect with old friends. After Edmonton, we drove to Saskatoon, struggling against those fierce Prairie winds…lots of gas station stops!! But that drive was certainly worth it… the laughter, yummy food, and comradery we had during those few days!! Texts and email are good, but there’s nothing like seeing the eyes crinkle and the mouth stretched with laughter. After ‘toon, we drove to Elfros for a short visit with Stella who will always be my/our MIL extraordinaire! And today, we made it to the northern part of the centre of the universe. Probably a few more days before we get to see the grandkids, but we’re getting close 😃😍🤗

Woohoo! Two great days on the road! Wednesday to between Banff and Calgary, stopping at a casino for the night. Linda came out ahead from our Nakoda casino visit, me not so much! Yesterday, to Edmonton. We had a wonderful visit and lunch with Shannon and Dana at their glorious acreage.  Kip, their new pup, was hilarious running and taking a dip in their pond.  It was another memory day.  Tonight, niece Liv is going to feed us and we are sooooo looking forward to seeing her, been too long.  Tomorrow, we get to spend time with the Jackson 5!!  Life is great! Alberta has already started their fire season. We saw one by the highway near Banff, with many firefighters scrambling and we heard today about an evacuation near Dayton Valley. Sure hope this is NOT an indication of what the summer will bring here and at home.
